Fictera welcomes erotic fiction in all its forms, written by and for adults. These rules are part of the terms of use. They apply to everything you publish: title, summary, tags, pen name, bio and the text of your chapters.
1.The spirit of the place
- Adult characters, fiction that knows it is fiction, and informed readers.
- Texts, and only texts: Fictera accepts no images.
- Honest warnings, so that everyone can choose what to read knowingly and exclude what they do not want to read.
2.What is prohibited
Absolute prohibition: any sexualisation of minors. No sexual content involving a character under 18, or presented as such, is tolerated, even fictional, even “aged up” with a single word, even as a childlike-looking creature. This includes signs of minority (age, school year, childlike physical description or behaviour). Sanction: immediate removal, permanent closure of the account and report to the authorities.
Also prohibited:
- incest: sexual relations between members of the same family (parents, children, siblings, grandparents, uncles and aunts, cousins), including by adoption, or by marriage when the characters were raised together or in a relationship of family authority;
- bestiality and necrophilia, including with animals presented as ordinary animals in a fantasy setting;
- real people (“RPF”): celebrities, public figures, people you know, living or dead, as soon as they are identifiable;
- untagged or glorified non-consent: a non-consensual scene is only allowed as fiction, with the matching warning, and without being presented as a model to follow or an encouragement to act;
- any other illegal content: incitement to hatred or violence, glorification of terrorism, harassment, defamation, disclosure of other people’s personal data, copyright infringement (another author’s text published without their consent), links to illegal content;
- advertising, spam and commercial links.
3.Mandatory warnings
Every story must declare its warnings from the closed list below. If none applies, the author explicitly chooses “No warnings apply”. Readers can exclude warnings from their searches.
- No warnings apply
- Dubious consent
- Non-consent (fiction)
- Graphic violence
- Extreme kink
- Emotional abuse
- Drugs or alcohol
- Self-harm or suicide
- Infidelity
A missing or misleading warning breaches these rules: the content may be held until it is corrected, and repeated breaches may lead to sanctions.
5.Texts written with artificial intelligence
Texts written with the help of artificial intelligence, or generated by it, are accepted and follow the same rules. Each story carries an optional, self-declared label:
- “Written by a human”;
- “AI-assisted”: AI helped (ideas, rephrasing, proofreading), the author wrote the text;
- “AI-generated”: most of the text was produced by an AI;
- “Not specified”: the default value, when the author does not say.
Fictera does not check this label, but it must be truthful: labelling a generated text “Written by a human” is a breach. Readers can filter stories by this label. Authors are responsible for a generated text like for any other, including for the rights to it.
6.Publishing quotas
To keep the catalogue healthy and limit abuse:
- publishing requires a verified email address;
- an account can create 1 new story per 7-day period during its first 30 days, then 3 per 7-day period;
- chapters are free, up to 10 published chapters per day;
- the team may adjust an account’s quota, up or down.
7.How we moderate
- On publication, each chapter is analysed automatically: a classifier provided by OpenAI (moderation API) looks in particular for signs of sexualisation of minors, complemented by a list of French and English keywords. When in doubt, the chapter is held, invisible, and the author receives a neutral message saying it is being reviewed.
- After publication, anyone can report content, with or without an account. Three reports from different people, or a single report for a suspected minor, automatically hide the content until it is reviewed.
- The final decision (restore, remove, sanction) is made by a person. Every removal comes with a statement of reasons to the author, who can appeal it.
8.Sanctions
Depending on the severity and repetition of breaches:
- content held until it is corrected or reviewed;
- content removed, with a statement of reasons;
- reduced publishing quota;
- account suspended or permanently closed.
For content involving minors, the account is closed immediately and permanently, and the facts are reported to the authorities (in France, through PHAROS: www.internet-signalement.gouv.fr).
9.Reporting content
Use the “Report” button available on every story and every chapter, or see the notice and action procedure (copyright included).
